Amatsu Norito means Prayer of Heaven.

As you say these words or listen on the right to the latest audio clip, visualize a golden ball of light coming through the top of your head and slowly moving down through the base of your spine as you continue to chant or listen.

In your mind, ask for something you wish to be healed for you or someone far away.

Raise your head, clap three times, bow and offer personal prayers. After praying, raise your head, clap three times, bow twice with hands together, and then bow.

Bow once, bow twice with hands together, then clap three times and bow again with hands together.

Now, keeping hands together while raising your head, recite:

Taka-ma-ga-hara ni kanzu-mari masu	高天原に神留り坐す
Kamurogi Kamuromi no mikoto mochite	神魯伎神魯美の詔以て
Sume-mi-oya kamu Izanagi-no-Mikoto	皇御祖神伊邪那岐大神
Tsukushi no Himuka no Tachihana no	筑紫の日向の橘の
Odo no Ahagi-hara ni	小戸の阿波岐原に
Misogi harai tamaishi toki ni nari maseru	御禊祓へ給ひし時に生座る
haraedo no ō-kami-tachi	祓戸の大神等
Moro-moro no magagoto tsumi kegare o	諸の枉事罪穢を
Harai tamae kiyome tamae to	祓ひ賜へ清め賜へと
Maosu koto no yoshi o	申す事の由を
Amatsu-kami kunitsu-kami	天津神国津神
ya-ho yorozu no kami-tachi tomo ni	八百万の神等共に
Ame no fuchi koma no mimi furitatete	天の斑駒の耳振立て
kikoshimese to	聞食せと

With hands together, recite the following and bow as marked:

Kashikomi kashikomi mo *maosu

恐み恐みも白す

THIS IS THE END OF THE AMATSU NORITO. WHAT FOLLOWS ARE OTHER SPECIAL PRAYERS.

As you raise your head, now say: 

Ama terasu Ōmikami	天照皇大神
mamori tamae sakihae tamae	守り給へ幸倍給へ

Then, recite the following and bow as marked: 

Ama terasu Ōmikami	天照皇大神
mamori tamae sakihae tamae	守り給へ幸倍給へ

Hands still together, raise your head and say: 

Kannagara tamachi hae mase

惟神霊幸倍坐世

Repeat and bow as marked with hands together: 

Kannagara tamachi hae mase

惟神霊幸倍坐世

Raise your head, clap three times, bow and offer personal prayers.  After praying, raise your head, clap three times, bow twice with hands together, and then bow.
